In Dec 1969, Merle Haggard released a new song, “The Fightin’ Side of Me”. Frustrated with the Vietnam War anti-war demonstrations, he put a stake in the ground. It is okay to be a proud American.
In 1984, Lee Greenwood wrote and released, “God Bless America…..Proud to be an American” with the same message. It is okay to be proud of your country.
